Molasses Bird Feeder

J-Man came home from Joy School today with three pinecones.
He wanted to make bird feeders out of them.
He is severely allergic to Peanut Butter so after doing some research,
I found that we could make it with molasses

Here is our Molasses Bird Feeder process:

Three pinecones strung with shoe laces in a square knot

Trail Mix

Trail mix blended up in the blender

Molasses, I usually only use this for gingerbread cookies at Christmas

Pour the molasses in a plastic cup,
dip pinecone in molasses until coated.

let excess molasses drip off.

cover with trail mix crumbs

set aside to dry

J-Man wants to try

it is pretty sticky

Pretzel Necklace Bird Feeder
Thread pretzels on a shoe lace

Place on a plate

pour molasses over the pretzels

sprinkle trail mix crumbs over the top.

Turn over and sprinkle again until covered in crumbs

we went outside to hang up the bird feeders and found
a humming bird nest  with a humming bird inside in our palo verde tree

The humming bird just froze in place as I took a close up shot

We placed all the bird feeders on the tree and came inside
we went to look outside and the hummingbird left its nest
to fly around the pinecone bird feeder

Success!

J-Man was sooooo excited, he said "We make a good team"
He is so sweet, I love him.

Whimsical Easter Decor on the "Cheep"

I have space above my kitchen cabinets that I put seasonal decor on.
I had one side decorated kind of fancy with my
glass dishes, glass bunnies and easter eggs
"Christ" tile I made at Super Saturday a couple of years ago
The tile is up year round in the center of the kitchen cabinets

The other side was blank and I wanted to do something whimsicle.

I bought some jellybeans and sorted them by color.

Put the remaining jelly beans in my vase that
holds my summer faux flowers
The I-Man has already started sneaking the candy out of the vase.

Then I got to work creating my whimsy with my dollar store finds

Items: Pinwheel, Clear Glass Vase, Jelly Beans
Each Pinwheel Vase cost about $3 to make

The Carrot

Chicks

"Egg"-cellent

The trio above my kitchen cabinets
high enough that my kiddo's can't sneak the candy
& I can have a whimsical moment or two durng the day

Fill twelve easter eggs with scripture quotes and small related items
Place them in a decorative container,
I got mine at Target it came with the easter eggs for $3.50

Then make a cute little tag to go on the outside.

Day 1
Open the egg, read the scriptures to find out about
Jesus and his journey to atone for our sins.

A "small cracker" representing the Last Supper.
