My Monsoon Garden

The best time for me to plant my garden
is just before the Monsoon starts.
I plant my seeds in June, nuture them,
protect them from the heat and watch them take root.
In July when it rains everyday my plants mature and bear fruit.

J-Man's First Visit from the Tooth Fairy

J-Man pulled out his first tooth.

The tooth has been wiggly for about a month.
J-Man and Mr. Mr. were wrestling (their favorite past time)
then J-Man hit his mouth on the little kid couch.

He twisted the tooth, anounced it was backwards then pulled it out.

J-Man was so excited, and then he admitted that he thought
when you pull out a tooth that you lose the ability to speak.
He is still as loud as ever, speech intact!

"Can you see my new tooth growing in?"  No.

I asked him what he thought the Tooth Fairy might bring to him.
His response, "a sea shell."

A sea shell  and a star fish.

J-Man is growing up way to fast, but I am happy for him.

Celebrating Pioneer Day

What a better way to celebrate Pioneer Day!

When you live outside of Utah, you celebrate on Saturday
and get the opportunity to share what and why you are celebrating.

We had a bike decorating party last night, and the bikes turned out great.

We woke up early to attend the flag raising ceremony,
eat breakfast and chat with friends while the kids played

Breakfast - Apple Pancakes.

Then came the fun part
The Children's Parade!

Mr.Mr. riding his bike in the Parade.
I ran him around the first time, and he felt confident the second time.
I never could get a picture of J-Man, he was trying to ride as fast as possible.

The deacons wore out the battery in the go cart long before the parade started
Sorry, to all the other parents, I already heard most of the boys asking for one.

J-Man found his friend A.N. to run the three-legged race
over, and over, and over.

The reward: one piece of candy each time you race.

J-Man and the other deacons.

It was cloudy most of the morning, but when the sun came out
the heat cranked up to 100 and everyone left quickly.

I am grateful for my rich pioneer heritage
on my Mother and Father's side of the family.
Check out your own family history
Happy Pioneer Day.

First Day of School

Today is the first day of school for J-Man and I-Man.
I-Man went to bed around 7:45pm last night
so that he could wake up on time this morning.

He woke up, ate breakfast and left to catch the bus.

I-Man is starting 8th grade.

J-Man is starting Kindergarten in the afternoon
He asked me every ten minutes this morning if it was time to go yet.

J-Man is excited that he will get to ride the bus home with I-Man everyday and I am happy that J-Man can be in a safe (peanut free) environment at school.
