DIY Telescopes

Last Night after dinner we made our own DIY Telescopes
Materials: Manilla File Folder, Toy Magnifying Glasses
Scissors, Stapler and Clear Tape
Decorate two file folders

I-Man decorating his folder

Mr.Mr. coloring his folder

Roll the File Folder into Tubes, staple ends in place

Cut a notch in the tube for the handle of the magnifying glass to fit through
wedge magnifying glass into the tube then tape in place.
Repeat for the other tube, then slide one tube through the other
to adjust the lenses.

And it worked a little bit, the only downside is that it
flipped the image upside down

kids running around in the backyard with glowsticks
waiting for it to get dark enough to see the stars clearly

Last night there was no moon shining so the stars were very bright
We saw both of the dippers, Sagitarius, Bootes and Cygnus Constellations

Afterwards the kids went for a dip in the pool
and had hot cocoa afterward

It sure was fun to have the L family join us,
they made it so fun.
