Lions, and Elephants and Peakocks, Oh, My

On Friday Night, We went to the Reid Park Zoo's Summer Safari Night

We visited the Zoo in the evening from 6-8pm

It was awesome.  The animals were active and playing, 

and we enjoyed the cooler tempuratures.

the one on top of the hill is 5 years old

the one on the bottom of the hill is just 1 1/2 years old

The Daddy was kept in a different area and

we could only catch a glimps of him

Interactive Elephant shows how long the tusks can grow each year

and you can flap the elephant's ears too.

we stayed to watch them for about 20 minutes

the lion cubs would jump on the mom and she would pin them down

or pretend to bite them and then they would do it again.

The daddy lion would get up and walk over to the action

and then go back and lay down.

This is the first time I saw the caymen completely out of the water

the green tailed "snake" lizard was in the same exhibit and was sleeping on a log

The peacock's were strutting their stuff

It is always fun to visit the zoo.
